Challenge / Solution

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the ZEISS Sales team asked my employer MONOMANGO for a new interactive digital business tool to communicate with their local and global clients. As a digital designer, I developed a Virtual Product Demo with a team, to enable the sales department to conduct client sessions. After analysing the sales team’s needs, we filtered them down to essential functions and a simple invitation process through CMS pages. This not only made it more accessible for new users, but reduced the overall development time.

The virtual showroom consists of two space modes:
(1) 360 degree mode —  users log in and can move around to greet other guests and virtually touch the ZEISS medical machines. The host can also do simple presentations.
(2) Demo Mode — focuses on detailed product learning sessions with step-by-step explanations.

For the interface’s overall look, I kept ZEISS's original BI design system and emphasised the futuristic digital product theme by adding a soft outer glow, wide shadow, and 90% transparency. The avatar is composed of a user name, a user camera view inside a circle, and a ring surface. To make it more lively, I proposed a glow-speaking ring effect that represents a smiling mouth which transforms as the user's microphone audio level changes.
